I love creating flowers on my embroidery machine. This is just one of the many flowers I am creating. This poppy is the pattern I purchased from “Embroidery by TM” She has many beautiful things not just flowers.
Once I loaded the threads on the embroidery machine, I used water soluble stabilizer in my hoop.
This stabilizer is washed away with warm water and what is left is the threads. I leave enough stabilizer in the flower so that is will be a little hard and easier to work with.
I lay the wet flowers on a drying rack until they are dry. Once they are dry I put them in a container to help shape them a little.
Once the flower is slightly shaped I glue it with the glue gun on low temp to a floral wire. and wrap the wire with floral tape. I bought the greenery at Joann’s to use rather than embroider the leaves.
I cut the plant and added to the flower where I wanted it. Once cut, I used the floral tape to attach the greenery.
Each poppy has 27,414 stitches and it takes approximately 57 minutes for each flower to stitch out. So you can see this will take awhile to stitch out and construct. There are all kinds of possibilities on what to do with the flowers. I can’t wait to see what you can do with the flowers. Love to hear from you. Till next time..
